DIY Solar System Necklace/Bracelet

A mommy friend of mine posted on Facebook, this cool bead project, “How To Make a Solar System Bracelet”. The girls love bead projects plus I thought this was a good way to teach Emmy about the planets. It was our inspiration project of the day.  As always, I usually put our own touch on it, just like we did on our previous  “Let’s Count 1-10” project.

Here’s what we used:

Wire string (16 inches long)

10 colorful beads (1 representing the Sun, 9 representing the planets)

52 black medium spacer beads (represents meteors, asteroids and comets)

1 pair magnetic clasp

2 crimps (use to secure magnetic clasps to wire string)

The girls had a blast making this project plus Emmy mastered 6 of her planets, three to go. 🙂
