The first time I laid eyes on this beautiful plant was during a visit at the Mystery Spot in Santa Cruz with the family. At that time, I didn’t even know its name and rarely seen these plants at the garden and plant section.  A week ago, Lil and I were at the grocery and were super delighted to see a few of them being sold there. More importantly, we finally found out what the plant’s name was. The plant, I’m referring to is the Fuschia Hybrida.

Here’s our fuschia plant getting some sunlight. The plant guide said that it made a good indoor plant or best to place it in a shaded area outside where it could get indirect sunlight.

A week later and some of the flower buds have started blooming.

The girls love to monitor it and have started playing a game of who can spot the newest bloom.  We love having the plant indoors but will be putting it outside to attract hummingbirds who are also known to help pollinate the plant. 🙂

How lovely! The blooms remind me of a Lily of the Valley we had in the yard at our first house. So pretty. And I do hope you get some hummingbirds!
