The Benefits of Failure

Today, my sister sent me this link of an old interview of J.K. Rowling with Oprah. I’m a fan of Harry Potter books and am truly inspired by the author’s personal journey as she wrote this book series. I’d mostly read about J.K. Rowling and this was the first time I’d watched an interview.

One of the highlights in the interview was her 2008 Harvard speech. I loved what she said about the benefits of failure. Here’s my favorite statement from her speech.

“It is impossible to live without failing at something. Unless you’ve lived cautiously, you might as well not lived at all.”

I’ve always been inspired by people who are not afraid to try, or fail or try again. So here’s to living our dreams and living our lives fully! Thanks again, Corey M.P.! Truly inspiring!
