My right eye is finally seeing its way to full recovery. Can’t wait to say good riddance crusty eye! In the meantime, I’ve decided to browse through amazon.com and see what I can wisely spend my mother’s day gift card on. Found a few interesting items. I love to watch the food network but cook not so much. Although I’m willing to learn a new recipe or two. I caught sight of another multi-tasking mom, Gwyneth Paltrow’s cookbook, “My Father’s Daughter”. The book cover spelled out exactly what I was looking for in a cookbook, “Delicious, Easy Recipes, Celebrating Family and Togetherness”. Delicious, easy and family are all key to me. I like Gwyneth’s work, it’s amazing how she can crossover from acting to country music then combine acting and singing by appearing on hit show “Glee”, blogging and now a cookbook?! What can’t this woman do? Talk about multi-tasking. Made me wonder if there was another celebrity mom who shared the same passion. And stumbled upon Tina Fey’s book, “Bossypants”. I enjoy 30Rock and Tina Fey’s work on SNL. Thanks to Amazon’s “Look Inside” option, I was able to do a sneak peak of her book. I soon found myself grinning then laughing as I read through the introduction. This book gave me the impression that much of the way it was written was being spoken in a familiar, very funny and clever Liz Lemony fashion that I have come to love and enjoy. Like I said earlier, I’m not much of a cook but am willing to dip my ladle in a new dish or two. But then again, when I find the “me time” which is a rare occasion, I often find myself wanting to just sit down and relax. Just me, my cup of coffee, feet up, comfy chair and an easy read. Cooking is work for me. So “me time” means no work. “My Father’s Daughter”, add to wishlist. “Bossypants” it is! Add to Cart!
